About The Author

I began writing Trust and Believe during one of the darkest seasons of my life. In a short period, I lost both of my parents, one of my nephews, and my oldest brother. As a teacher navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, life became even more isolating, with most people confined to their homes and routines turned upside down. During that time, I had to truly trust and believe that the Lord would give me the comfort and strength I needed to endure.

Proverbs 3:5 became my anchor:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.”

It was that faith, simple, raw, and unshakable, that carried me forward.

I am a proud husband, married to the light of my life, Lisa Hutchinson, for over two decades. She has been everything to me, my support, my peace, my partner in every storm and every celebration. We have faced many dark times together, including the pain of losing two children to miscarriage. Through counseling, prayer, and unyielding faith, we chose to trust and believe that God was working all things together for our good. And He did.

God blessed us with twins, Monta and Kenta, who are now fourteen years old and entering high school. Watching them grow has been a constant reminder of God’s grace and faithfulness.

Throughout my journey, I have worn many hats, pastor, elder, minister, teacher, father, provider, but at the core, I am a servant and a lover of God’s Word. My educational background includes a Master’s in Cybersecurity Management, a Master’s in Family and Marriage Counseling, and an Education Specialist degree in Leadership across all levels of education.

Lisa, my bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh, holds a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering and a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction. Together, we have served in education for over twenty years. We are also the founders and co-pastors of Vision For God’s People Ministries, and the founders of VFGPAcademy.com, an online K–12 Christian school.

Our prayer and vision is to one day establish a large Christian campus that will serve as a training ground for young disciples, to equip, empower, and raise up leaders for the Kingdom of God.

Dr. Andrew and First Lady Lisa Hutchinson are the proud parents of seven children and six beautiful grandchildren. Our lives are a testimony of God’s love, redemption, and purpose, and we are committed to helping others discover the same through faith, education, and community.
